31 May 2006. Inspired by this year's entries.

As promised, some D&AD highlights, according to me. I haven't included ones that you can't appreciate solely via the website, so no gaming in there, and no comment on those tv ads that didn't let D&AD put online. Only two black pencils - and I've rabbited on about the Grauniad redesign enough elsewhere. Here's what else I liked:
This year's best gags:
Harvey Nicks fake calendar
Murder on Corrie
Xmas pud rubbish bags
Nostalgiatastic Millets ad
The prettiest things:
Childish classic fiction
Silence – a lovely piece of filmmaking until you get to the product (so a failed ad)
Olive oil bottle
The pauses for thought:
Blackout
Greenpeace (hurrah, copywriting is not dead)
Cameraphone (always a good client to work for, but always well executed, so to speak)
And well worth its black pencil:
Uncle Leo in Canada
Anyone else seen something purrty?
